From Technology Executive to Fractional CTO

My career has been built around a simple principle:

Technology should solve business problems—not create more of them.

Over the course of 25+ years, I have worked across technology leadership, consulting, architecture, cloud transformation, data, analytics, and enterprise modernization.

As a Chief Information Officer, I was responsible for setting strategic technology direction for a $100M organization, leading an internal IT organization of approximately 20 people, overseeing approximately 100 consultants, and managing a technology budget of approximately $2M.

That experience gave me a perspective that goes beyond technology implementation. It taught me how to evaluate technology investments in the context of business growth, operational efficiency, financial priorities, risk, organizational capability, and long-term strategy.

As a consultant, I have subsequently worked with organizations across life sciences, healthcare, medical devices, insurance, financial services, and technology, leading and advising on complex technology transformation initiatives.

Today, through Tejas Data Management, I bring that combination of executive leadership and hands-on transformation experience to growing businesses as a Fractional CTO and technology advisor.
